Heather Wood
Some Assembly Required was founded by Misa Doi and in May 2004. Misa was a year out of college and missed performing improv on a consistent basis so she called up Heather to see if she'd like to help create an improv troupe. Auditions were held, amazing talent was found, and Some Assembly Required was born! Though members have come and gone, S.A.R. has stayed strong throughout the years and performed at numerous venues around Los Angeles.
In Dec. 2008, S.A.R. was picked up by the Los Angeles Comedy Festival to perform a monthly show in their year-round Comedy Spotlight Series. In April 2010, they decided although they loved working with the LA Comedy Fest, they felt it was time to move on to new adventures.
S.A.R. recently teamed up with Combined Artform and Tilted Frame (a San Francisco based improv team), to perform a multi-media multi-city improv show, called Tilted Frame Network. LA WEEKLY called the show "quirky" , "really funny" with "sparks of brilliance" with "loads of potential." After an awesome 3 week run in Jan 2010, T.F.N shows resumed in April and May.
